MINIMAL SALARY A COSTS OF LIVING AS A SIGN OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Abstract

Salary is an indispensable element of every employee's life. It serves to meet basic living needs. On the other hand, its amount sets a trend for improving the quality of life and the quantity of purchased goods and services. The relationship between the amount of the minimal salary and the cost of living was discussed, based on the example of Poland and European countries. The legal conditions and statistical data were analyzed, together with a proposal for changes regarding the determination of the minimal salary.
