UKRAINE – A COUNTRY OF MANY NATIONALITIES

Abstract

This article presents the creation of the borders of Ukraine. Which has not been fully described in history. There are several theories about the arrival of the population in the areas of today's Ukraine, and researchers of historical sources are
constantly discussing, wondering which of them is the closest to the truth. While creating this article, we consulted sources constituting not only the creation of the Ukrainian State, but also describing the lives of people of particular nationalities and ethnic minorities living in the areas of today's Ukraine. The Great Famine, the Volhynian Massacre or the Second World War are just a few of the main topics that have been raised. During the analysis of the materials for this work of this work, the greatest attention was focused on the aspect of the civilian census during World War II, which was not described in a clear way, but rather "distorted" by the results of population
changes caused by World War II.
