Abstract

This study indicates the consequences of a party's inactivity in civil proceedings. It focuses on the issue of evidence preclusion and discusses the institution of default judgment. In addition, it raises the issue of the defendant's or participant's failure to collect correspondence and its consequences, presenting the subject both in the light of the current legal status and the wording of legal norms before the amendment. The article
contains an analysis of the institution of delivering correspondence through a bailiff. The publication also discusses the function of a curator for a person unknown from theirs place of stay. The study emphasizes the need to constantly increase public legal awareness, which may lead to avoiding the negative effects described in it.
