Abstract

The work “The Beginnings of JW GROM: An Analysis of Organizational and
Operational Challenges During the Formation of the Unit” aims to analyze the initial
difficulties, which included issues related to recruiting appropriate personnel and
adapting to modern standards of training and conducting special operations in
a dynamically changing environment in the early 1990s. The GROM Military Unit,
established in 1990, is one of the most elite special units of the Polish Army. Its creation
was a response to the growing challenges of international terrorism and the need to
increase Poland's special operations capabilities.
