LEARNING PLC PROGRAMMING LANGUAGES IN THE ERA OF CURRENT DEVELOPMENT

The article describes the programming languages for programmable logic
controllers (PLCs), which are discussed in detail in the IEC61131-3 standard2. The
article also contains tips for beginner automation engineers regarding the selection of the
programming language or languages for logical controllers. Therefore, the author
indicates the programming languages that are currently most often used by experienced
automation engineers. At the same time, it tries to answer the question whether it is still
worth learning programming languages in times of dynamic development of artificial
intelligence.
