Keywords:
artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, cybersecurity, AI ethicsAbstract
Artificial intelligence (AI) plays an increasingly significant role in modern military matters, influencing the conduct of operational activities, training, command and control, and information security. The aim of this article is to review key AI technologies
used in the defense sector, their current and potential applications, as well as the associated ethical, legal, and strategic challenges. The paper discusses, among others,
autonomous weapon systems and the use of AI in intelligence, cyber defense, data analysis, and decision support. Particular attention is focused on issues of accountability, human control over autonomous systems, and the risk of escalation of armed conflicts. The conclusions indicate that although the development of AI in the military is inevitable, its implementation must be closely linked to international regulations, ethical supervision, and respect for international humanitarian law.
